Fans are calling out Ciara after she released a snippet of her new song promoting the narrative of independent women who don’t need a man. Black Twitter says they don’t want the life she’s singing about; they want the real life she has with her husband and kids.
I’ve always liked Ciara for her realness and talent. But I don’t understand why her music hasn’t matured to reflect the good life that she has built for herself. She’s married to a NFL Superstar, has beautiful healthy kids and is flourishing as an entrepreneur. I would LOVE to hear some songs about these things.

Instead she (and Beyonce) continue to put out records about Independent woman doing everything on their own. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this narrative, but we get plenty of content about this from women who are actually single and trying to make ends meet. Even Jess Hilarious has expressed her disinterest in another “Independent Woman” anthem while Ciara is living a fairy tale life
