Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has filed a lawsuit against Texas attorney Tony Buzbee for defamation, civil extortion, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
This legal action follows the dismissal of a rape case against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, which involved allegations from a plaintiff known as Jane Doe.
Jay-Z argues that the lawsuit was filed strategically just before his daughter Blue Ivy’s premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King, causing him significant personal and financial harm, including the loss of $20 million in contracts.
He claims the timing of the allegations was malicious, aimed at forcing him into a no-win situation and inflicting emotional distress.
Jay-Z describes the experience as a calculated attack on his character, leading him to retreat from public life to escape media scrutiny.
