Pop icon and music legend, Janet Jackson, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this past Friday, March 29, 2019. The award was presented by Janelle Monae, who called her, “The Queen of Black Girl Magic.”

Ms. Jackson is the youngest of member of the Jackson family, following in the footsteps of her older brothers in the Jackson 5 who were inducted in 1997, and Michael Jackson was inducted again in 2001 as a solo artist, making him the only artist to be inducted twice.

Acknowledging the greatness in her blood, Jackson stated, “I witnessed, along with the rest of the world, my family’s extraordinary impact on popular culture. Not just in America, but all around the globe, the entire globe. As the youngest in the family, I was determined to make it on my own. I wanted to stand on my own two feet, but never in a million years did I expect to follow in their footsteps. Tonight, your baby sister has made it in.”
