James Cook Signs $48M Deal to Stay with Buffalo Bills

James Cook has signed a four-year, $48 million extension with the Buffalo Bills, securing his role as their starting running back. The deal includes $30 million guaranteed and follows a nine-day “hold-in” where Cook attended but didn’t participate in practices. After initial tension, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed progress in conversations with Cook. Drafted in 2022, Cook rushed for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. His agent said Cook never wanted to play elsewhere. The Bills now look to Cook as a long-term offensive cornerstone in their continued push for a Super Bowl.
