Foodlink’s Curbside Market is your local farmer’s market on wheels! Its purpose is to increase access to food by providing fresh, affordable foods in low-income communities throughout Foodlink’s service area.

The Curbside Market makes frequent stops throughout the city of Rochester to bring fresh, local and affordable produce directly to the consumer! Today the WDKX Jam Squad joined the Curbside Market at Lake Tower, 321 Lake avenue.

While we were there residents and neighbors of the area were able to purchase locally grown and seasonal produce at a great low price. Some of the featured items included 4 ears of corn for $1, acorn squash for $1, large watermelons for $4.50 and, of course, 1 dozen eggs for only $1.25. Foodlink even brought a nutrition specialist to answer any nutrition questions, as well as provide a delicious fruit salad featuring some of the produce the Curbside Market had available for purchase.

The best thing about the Curbside Market, in my opinion, is that they accept multiple forms of payment. The market currently accepts cash, debit, SNAP and various WIC checks. SNAP customers can even use the Double Up Food Bucks program and get more bang for their buck! This makes it extremely accessible for all to receive fresh, healthy and local food.
