The Ivy League Schools made it official Wednesday. Fall sports would not be held during the coming semester because of concerns about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The decision affects football, soccer, cross country, field hockey and volleyball. On March 10, the Ivy League was the first college sports entity to announce that its basketball conference tournament would be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A statement released by the Ivy League Council of Presidents said No sports will take place at least until the end of the first semester. Which would impact winter sports such as men’s and women’s basketball and hockey. “A decision on the remaining winter and spring sports competition calendar, and on whether fall sport competition would be feasible in the spring, will be determined at a later date,” the release said.
