Is Tyrese Gibson Wanted For Death Of A Dog?

Written by on September 30, 2025

An unfortunate tragedy unfolded in Atlanta earlier this month involving Tyrese Gibson, his dogs, and his neighbor’s late dog. The 46-year-old singer is now wanted on   charges. Fulton County police confirmed on Monday (Sept. 29), via CBS that a Buckhead resident contacted them on Sept. 18 to report that the Los Angeles artist’s four Cane Corso dogs had killed his five-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel named Henry. Cane Corsos are recognized as a large breed of dog, often employed as guard dogs.

FCPD Captain Nicole Dwyer, who heads Animal Services, said the neighbor let his dog out into his yard only to find him dead just five minutes later. Security camera footage revealed that Tyrese’s dogs were running loose and scratching at a neighbor’s door across the street minutes before Henry was attacked and killed. Further, a neighbor called 911 after Henry was fatally attacked to report that Gibson’s pets were blocking her from accessing her car. Animal control officers were sent to the scene and helped her get to her vehicle.

Evidently, the “Sweet Lady” singer’s dogs had previously caused commotion in the neighborhood; FCPD said that they received five reports of them running free and issued multiple warnings to Gibson. On Sept. 22, he reportedly agreed to give his dogs up to Animal Services, only to then say he needed more time to decide when officers arrived to pick them up.

Dwyer reportedly told the Fast & Furious actor that a search warrant would be executed if he did not cooperate, and upon his refusal, she obtained one for his property plus a warrant for his arrest. Gibson was reportedly not home, and the dogs had been moved when officers arrived to search his property.

“Mr. Tyrese Gibson extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident that occurred while Mr. Gibson was away from his home. Upon learning of this unfortunate accident, Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment,” Tyrese’s legal counsel wrote in a statement.

“Concerning the misdemeanor warrant, Mr. Gibson is cooperating fully with authorities to address and resolve this matter responsibly. Mr. Gibson asks for privacy and understanding as this matter is handled through the appropriate legal channels, and as he remains committed to the safety of his community and the well-being of all animals.”
