If you hired a contractor for lawn care services in the past 20 years, you may want to check your bank account.

Thousands of invoices with attached copies of personal checks were scattered up and down 390 and E Henrietta Rd Friday afternoon.

WDKX’s own Jazzy T saw the papers and stopped for a closer look.  Much of the paperwork was on High Point Lawn Services letterhead and included contracts with client names, addresses and phone numbers. Some service agreement even included copies of personal checks with visible bank account and routing information.

Jazzy T saw one check wrote out to High Point lawn care service in 1999.

Upon calling the company for comment, she learned that High Point was recently acquired by TruGreen and that the documents were being transferred to a local brand when a box fell off the truck and into the street.

TruGreen spokeswoman Amy Simpson released the following statement,

“While transferring NY lawn care service agreements to our branch location following a recent acquisition, a box containing a small portion of the agreements fell off the vehicle. We are grateful for the other drivers who let us know of the incident, and we immediately deployed a team who were able to clean up nearly all documents.  We are working actively with local authorities as they clean up any remaining documentation.  Once we review the collected documents, we will have a better understanding of which customers might have been impacted. We are very sorry this incident occurred, and want our new customers to know that we are doing everything in our power to limit any potential impact and will work with them going forward to address any concerns they may have.”
