Incident at Atlanta airport kills two Delta Airlines employees, injures another

The incident occurred in Delta’s maintenance area when a tire exploded as it was being removed from a Boeing 757 that had traveled from Las Vegas to Atlanta. Delta Airlines expressed heartbreak over the loss and extended support to the victims’ families and colleagues. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens offered condolences and praised the quick response of first responders. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, representing airline industry members, called for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
