‘HOF Melo’: Carmelo Anthony Elected to Basketball Hall of Fame on First Ballot

Written by on April 5, 2025

Carmelo Anthony, one of basketball’s most prolific scorers, has officially been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025. A 10-time All-Star and three-time Olympic gold medalist, Anthony dominated the NBA across 19 seasons and left a lasting impact at Syracuse, Denver, and New York. He ranks 9th on the all-time NBA scoring list and continues to influence the game through media and business ventures. His induction comes as his son Kiyan Anthony begins his own collegiate basketball journey—at Syracuse, no less. The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place September 6.
