Heated Mask Mandate Debates at Local School Board Meetings

As the school year is approaching, the debate over mask mandates in schools continues to be a hot topic at some board of education meetings, and one, in particular, has made the news. At the Webster Board of Education meeting, where one current and two former students praised the district’s masking mandate, was interrupted by the crowd with outbursts of disagreements.
Webster senior Samantha Fallone stated; “I was a little scared. It was a little scary being up there and, yeah, I was just starting to feel impatient, as I thought we should all be respecting each other and letting each other speak.”
