Harvest Moon Festival to return to Rochester

Written by on September 12, 2024

The Rochester Harvest Moon Festival is returning for its second year, celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander heritage in the Greater Rochester area. Organized by APAPA Rochester, the family-friendly event will take place on September 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pittsford Grain Tower parking lot. Sungmin Shin, APAPA’s interim president, shared excitement about this year’s festival, which is expected to be larger than last year’s successful inaugural event.

The 2023 festival attracted around 4,000 attendees, featuring vendors, food, music, dance, artisans, and cultural activities. This year’s event will continue to celebrate abundance and family unity, key themes in many Eastern and South Asian cultures. The festival offers a way for the local community to come together and connect with their heritage. The event is free, with News 8 serving as the media sponsor and anchor Mikhaela Singleton acting as the emcee.
