The Trump administration plans to cancel $100 million in remaining federal contracts with Harvard University and seek alternative vendors, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times.
The decision marks a full severance of the government’s business relationship with the university.
It follows tensions after Harvard partially denied a request from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for private student data, including records of international students.
In response, DHS revoked Harvard’s ability to admit international students—an action temporarily blocked by a federal judge.
Harvard has called the administration’s move unlawful.
