Harley School’s ‘Beyond Soup Club’ Brings Holiday Cheer to Those in Need

The Harley School’s “Beyond Soup Club” is making a big difference in Rochester this holiday season. Led by high school students Mary Muller and Luna Clark, the club raises funds through bake sales to prepare and distribute homemade meals like chili, mac salad, and cornbread. These meals are donated to organizations like St. Peter’s Kitchen, which serves those in need.
Club members say the experience goes beyond cooking—it’s about building community and taking initiative. “You have to be confident and reach out to organizations,” says Muller. Clark adds, “If you don’t find a club you like, make one. It’s easier than it seems and incredibly rewarding.”
Looking ahead, the “Beyond Soup Club” plans cookie giveaways in December and aims to host at least five food giveaways this school year, continuing their mission to spread kindness and joy.
