Happy Cinco de Mayo! It’s not just a day to drink and have Mexican Food. (Even though I think most people will) The celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with substantial Mexican-American populations is rooted in history. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Cinco de Mayo is the anniversary of the “Battle of Puebla”. The holiday celebrated in honor of the military victory in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III during the Franco-Mexican War. With alcohol sales at an all time high during this COVID-19 pandemic. They’ll be plenty of drinks available to choose on Cinco de Mayo. However you choose to celebrate. Stay safe.
