Grocery Store Workers Might Be In The Next Vaccination Phase

In addition to doctors and first responders, its safe to say that essential employees like grocery store workers also put their lives on the line for everyone else, as they did their best to keep food on their shelves so we could have food on our tables.

Now, officials at the CDC have recommended that essential workers be included in the next phase of vaccination.

Hegdorn’s in Webster has been very busy through the holiday season, with employees seeing a lot of in person interactions with each other and customers.

Sofia Bosco, the front end manager gave a statement, saying:

“Once the holiday season hit it was basically like beginning of pandemic, we had to have three managers on front of the store end every day,”

She said that sometimes she feels overlooked from the vaccine distribution, she and her colleagues have been showing up every day since the pandemic. She says she plans on getting the vaccine when she can, but fears for her older co workers.

“A lot of them can’t stay home or do what I did, take three months off, because they have bills to pay rent to get done,” she said.
