Greece Garden Center, Frear, Closing ‘With Heavy Hearts’

After being open for almost a century, longtime Greece garden Center Frear is closing its doors. In a statement on their Facebook page, it reads: “It is with heavy hearts that due to the current supply issues, increasing costs, and the damage to our facility from the windstorms sustained on March 6th that we are closing Frear’s Garden Center & Christmas Fantasyland on Sunday, July 31st, 2022.”
Frear has been passed down through three generations of the Frear family. The center first opened in 1892, when current ower Warren Frear’s grandfather, Ernst Frear, purchased it. Warren Frear and his wife Lynda currently run the business, along with their daughter, Kerry Frear-Caliri, and longtime General Manager John “Jay” Nicholson.
