Governor Kathy Hochul Uses Necklace to Spread ‘Vaxed’ Message

During Governor Kathy Hochul’s announcement of incoming lieutenant governor, State Senator Brian Benjamin, Hochul wore a gold-colored pendant that sent a message. The nameplate necklace had a single word: “Vaxed.”
According to the CDC, As of Thursday, 78.9% of New Yorkers over the age of 18 had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Among all New York residents, including those under the age of 12 who remain ineligible, the state’s one-dose vaccination percentage is 66.6%.
In a recent statement from Governor Kathy Hochul: “We need to get more people vaccinated…And our numbers are good, my friends, but they’re not great. And this is the great State of New York. Let’s take those vaccination numbers and put them through the roof.”
