Governor Kathy Hochul Signs New 9/11 Legislation

Written by on September 10, 2022

Yesterday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed new legislation that will aid victims, first responders, and families impacted by the September 11, 2001 attacks to have more of an opportunity to claim compensation. As a part of that legislation, fallen first responder James W. Kennelly will also be honored with a portion of the State Highway System dedicated in his name.

Governor Hochul stated: “New Yorkers will never forget the horrific events of September 11, 2001, and we will never forget the bravery and sacrifice of the civilians and first responders who lives were forever changed. As we mark the twenty-first anniversary of the terror attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania, I am honored to sign these five new laws that will support and honor those whose lives were transformed on that terrible day.”
