James Smith: Rochester’s Soon-To-Be Mayor
Written by Site Hub on October 6, 2021
After Mayor Lovely Warren took the plea deal on Monday, resigning as Rochester mayor, Deputy Mayor James Smith is ready to take his place. James Smith has been an advisor for Warren since 2015 and now will serve as mayor for the remainder of the year. Smith was a former Republican, now Democrat who had been the city’s communications director the previous four years, having come to the city after serving as county manager in Seneca County, and before that as regional director and manager of constituent services for Congressman Tom Reed.
