Governor Kathy Hochul Calls on Local Leaders to ‘Step Up’ on Mask Mandate

It has been about one week since Governor Kathy Hochul enforced an indoor mask requirement and/or business vaccine mandate, which stirred up controversy among counties across the state. Yesterday, Governor Hochul toured the Crossgates Mall Vaccination Clinic in Albany to promote her mandate.
Governor Hochul stated: “I’m asking everyone to be part of this solution, and this is really a solution to help keep us safe during a very vulnerable time…We have seen a sharp increase in cases in the last week which is not surprising…Not just help your loved ones and make sure grandmas at the dinner table with you next year and elderly parents; just people you just care so much about. You can take steps to protect them.”
