In a COVID-19 briefing yesterday afternoon, Governor Kathy Hochul says she will reassess the mask mandate that is still in place in New York every two weeks. This announcement was made at the upcoming “end” of the mandate, which was February 10th.
When asked what is the likelihood the mandate will be removed before the end of the month, Governor Hochul stated: “I don’t just look at the numbers. I assess them intensely every day intently – trends, as well as our vaccination rate scenarios, hospitalizations. Before any decision is made, I am going to continue having conversations with the heads of hospitals and school superintendents – and other people who are affected by what we do, and business leaders.”
