Governor Hochul Announces $29 Million Investment in Electric Cars

Written by on July 20, 2023

Yesterday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the state’s commitment to allocating additional funds for the enhancement of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and consumer rebates. According to Gov. Hochul, the state will direct a total of $29 million towards increasing the availability of Level 2 chargers, in addition to extending consumer rebates under the Drive Clean Rebate program.

This initiative is a significant step towards achieving the state’s goal of mandating that every new passenger car, pickup truck, and SUV sold within its borders be zero-emission by 2035. It also supports the broader environmental goal of slashing greenhouse gas emissions by 85% before 2050.
