Written by on January 10, 2020

New York State may soon be the next marijuana state according to Andrew Cuomo’s Tenth State of the State Address.

The discussion of legalizing marijuana in New York State has been a conversation for the last couple of years.
New York State currently faces a $6 million budget gap legalizing marijuana could potentially, “… bring in $300 million a year in tax revenue, and billions of dollars more in economic activity when fully implemented, though that could be years away,” according to the N.Y. Times.

Cuomo’s proposal also included ideas on increasing spending on green initiatives, helping small businesses, improving diversity on state farms, and more.
