Goodwill’s ‘Sustainability Under the Stars’ Highlights Thrifting

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes hosted its “Sustainability Under the Stars” fashion show fundraiser in Rochester, spotlighting thrifting and repurposed fashion. Local artists showcased designs crafted from Goodwill-sourced materials, with 13WHAM’s Karen Edwards and Lowell Rose walking the runway. The event underscored Goodwill’s sustainability efforts, which kept nearly 30 million pounds of items in circulation last year. Proceeds will benefit community programs, including the 988 crisis line. President and CEO Jen Lake emphasized that thrifting not only supports the environment but also saves lives by funding essential community services. The event drew attention to creative, eco-friendly fashion and community impact.
