A Georgia mother, Krystena Murray, is suing Coastal Fertility Specialists after giving birth to another couple’s child due to an embryo mix-up.
Murray, who had long dreamed of motherhood, was devastated to discover through an at-home DNA test that the baby she carried was not biologically hers.
She became suspicious when the newborn did not share her race, and upon inquiry, the clinic confirmed the error but could not locate her own embryos.
Murray expressed the emotional turmoil of nurturing a child she cannot keep, stating, “I will never fully heal or completely move on.”
Since losing custody in 2024, she has not seen the child. Her lawyer, Adam Wolf, is pushing for nationwide regulations for fertility clinics to prevent similar incidents.
In response to the lawsuit, Coastal Fertility Specialists acknowledged the situation but have not publicly commented further.
