Gas Prices Rising Hitting Record Highs

I don’t know if you are ready to hear this but Gas prices are the highest on record for Rochester, NY and the rest of the country.
So the average gas prices in all 50 states are over $4.00 for the first time ever in history. According to AAA the national average is $4.589 as of May 19, 2022. Just one year ago the average gas price nationally was $3.043 for regular gas.
In New York the average gas price is $4.905 as of Thursday and it’s looking like we will see prices over $5.00 very soon. If you are using Premium gas you are already there with the average price at $5.469. In Rochester the gas price is $4.840 for Regular and $5.338 for Premium.
AAA said the continued price increase is from the high cost of oil and the lack of refining capacity.
