Founder of Rochester’s House of Mercy Shelter Passes Away at Age 90

Sister Grace Miller, founder of the House of Mercy Homeless Shelter in Rochester and a longtime advocate for the homeless, passed away Thursday at age 90, surrounded by loved ones. 

A member of the Sisters of Mercy since 1955, she spent decades ministering to people in poverty and served as executive director of her shelter for 37 years. 

Community leaders remembered her for her compassion and heartfelt service. Memorial arrangements are still being planned.
