Former Wambach’s site might be turned into affordable housing

The old Wambach’s site is being examined as potential for a new affordable housing project. There would be many steps to go through with the town of Irondequoit and the re-zoning process. If all goes through the housing would be geared towards hospital workers like nurses assistants, sanitation workers, and food service workers. According to studies those types of jobs are filled by people who live farther away from the hospital in unassumingly more affordable areas. Concerns about traffic problems have been expressed by other near by residents.
