Former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson were attacked Friday night while walking near their home in New York City. Police arrived at the scene on Second Avenue around 8:30 p.m., finding a 20-year-old man with facial injuries and a 70-year-old man with head injuries. Although the victims were not initially named, it was later confirmed that Paterson and his stepson were involved. According to Paterson’s spokesperson, the attackers had a prior interaction with Paterson’s stepson, and both men were able to fend off their assailants. They were treated at a hospital and have since been released. Paterson expressed gratitude for the quick police response and the public’s support, urging people not to exploit the incident for political gain.
