Former ‘Glee’ Star Amber Riley: “Don’t Call Me Mercedes”

If you were a fan of the musical-comedy tv show Glee or just a fan of Amber Riley, then you may be familiar with her iconic role as Mercedes Jones. After the show ended in 2015, Riley is still being called ‘Mercedes’ and she is not happy with it.
Riley took to Twitter to say: “I despise when ppl call me Mercedes. Put some respect on my name. Call me AMBER or RILEY. It’s wild that I even have to say that. I don’t answer to it, and if you do it facetiously I’ll block you…I’ve done too much in my career to be reduced to one role. Whether you respect the work I’ve done or not, I don’t really care, BUT basic human decency is to recognize me as a person and use my actual name. Boundaries.”
After Amber Riley’s run on Glee, her acting credits include BET’s Christmas Deja Vu, HBO’s Black Lady Sketch Show, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
