Former Air Canada Pilot Charged After Allegedly Flying 16 Years Without Proper License

A former Air Canada pilot is facing criminal charges after police allege he flew for years without holding the proper license required to serve as an airline captain.
Investigators claim Geoffrey Wall operated more than 900 domestic and international flights between 2009 and 2025 while using fraudulent licensing documents. Air Canada says he held a valid commercial pilot license but lacked the airline transport pilot license required for captains.
The airline maintains that passenger safety was not compromised, citing mandatory training, simulator checks, and annual flight evaluations. Once the issue was discovered, the pilot was removed from duty and is no longer employed by the airline.
Police have described the case as a rare and extraordinary example of alleged aviation fraud, with some comparing it to the movie “Catch Me If You Can.”
Wall has been charged, but the allegations have not yet been proven in court.
