Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries has been arrested on charges related to sex trafficking, according to sources. The indictment, filed in the Eastern District of New York, accuses Jeffries and two associates, Matthew Smith and James Jacobson, of running a sex trafficking scheme between 2008 and 2015. They allegedly recruited young men, often aspiring models, for sex-themed parties involving drugs, alcohol, and Viagra. Some victims were as young as 19, with many hoping to advance their careers through modeling opportunities. The men were reportedly misled about the nature of the events, which took place in locations such as the Hamptons, New York City, and Europe.
The charges follow a BBC investigation in 2023 and subsequent lawsuits accusing Jeffries of using his role at Abercrombie & Fitch to exploit young men. Jeffries served as CEO from 1992 to 2014, transforming the company into a global brand but facing controversy over his exclusionary marketing practices.
