Foodlink Introduces Nutritional Awareness as Bills Training Camp

This year at Bills training camp, local health organizations are launching nutritional awareness campaigns featuring a two-for-one special. Foodlink has joined forces with others to tackle the issue of food insecurity within New York State. To address the vital need for food access, they have deployed mobile farm market trucks to the camp.
Nichole Borch from the Field & Fork Network explained, “Local markets are sourcing this produce from area farmers who deliver it to communities lacking grocery stores, where only corner stores selling candy and chips are available. This initiative brings fresh, wholesome local food to places that wouldn’t otherwise have access to it.”
In the coming week, Field & Fork Network’s Double Up Foodbucks program will offer a match for those using SNAP or EBT benefits, providing up to $20 daily towards local, fresh produce.
