Flight diverted after passenger finds live mouse in meal

A Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) flight from Oslo to Malaga was diverted to Copenhagen after a live mouse was found in a passenger’s in-flight meal. The incident occurred when a mouse scurried out of a food box being opened by a passenger. The diversion was in accordance with airline safety procedures to prevent potential risks, such as damage to electrical wiring. SAS spokesperson Oystein Schmidt stated that such occurrences are extremely rare, and the airline would review its procedures with suppliers to prevent it from happening again. Passengers were flown to Malaga on a different aircraft, with only a few extra hours added to their journey. The incident follows another rodent-related travel disruption in England, where a train was terminated mid-journey due to squirrels onboard.
