The Security Secretary told reporters earlier this week that FEMA can meet immediate needs but doesn’t have enough money to make it through the hurricane season.
Last week Hurricane Helene hit the Southeast part of the country killing 160 people.
Hurricane season runs between June 1st through November 30th.
