A Long Island man may be the first person in New York State to be charged for price gouging medical masks.
The man was caught in clear violation of the Defense Protection Act which is a law to fight against people price gouging medical supplies during the pandemic.
If found guilty, the man identified as Amardeep Singh could face up to one year in prison.
Investigators found personal protective equipment, also known as PPE, in the man’s Long Island store marked up and sold at 1000%.
To everyone out here over charging people for personal protective equipment during this pandemic you better be careful because the Feds are watching.
