Ever Heard of the Super Bowl Flu? 17 Million People Will Have It Today!

Expect to see a few people calling in sick today at the job. No it’s not the Flu……Flu! It’s called the Super Bowl Flu! An estimated 17 million Americans are expected to call in sick Today. And trust me they’re not all Kansas City Chiefs fans or San Francisco 49er fans. They may not even be football fans, but this is not new to the work place. The last few years the numbers have been going up since 2005, for calling in sick the day after the Super Bowl. According to researchers productivity lost is somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 billion dollars.
And don’t think the NFL hasn’t noticed, trying to lengthen the NFL season to 17 or even 18 games in an effort to (1# -5# Make More Money), but #6 have the Super Bowl played the Sunday before Presidents’ Day. But until that day comes non sports fan, it’s going to be a quiet 1st Monday Morning in February.
