Written by on September 24, 2021

If you are not able to pay your utility bills due to the pandemic there is assistance available. New York State has funds available for families that did not receive help from New York’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is offering help to those eligible for one-time payments through the American Rescue Plan.

New York has $150 million to help low-income families through the American Rescue Plan. This will be on a first come first serve basis and the payments will be through September 2022 or until the money runs out.

Families could receive up to $10,000 to pay their utility bills.
