East High School Partnership With The University Of Rochester Will Continue Through 2025

Some good news for East High School and its students and staff. The partnership between East High and the University of Rochester has been renewed. The three-year renewal was approved by the New York State Education Department on Monday.
The University of Rochester took over East High school after it was to be closed because of failure to meet state standards. The partnership will continue with the U of R’s Warner School of Educatio through 2025.
Since the partnership began in 2014-15 school year East High’s graduation rates have increased from 33% to 85%. Also, yearly suspensions have decreased 90% and attendance went up from 77% to 90%. The student dropout rate decreased as well from 41% to 15% according to the U of R.
