Drake funded a look-alike contest in Toronto, offering a $10,000 grand prize to the winner. The event, held on Saturday, December 14, at Casuals Bakery, featured fans dressed as the rapper, showcasing iconic looks from his albums like Certified Lover Boy and For All the Dogs.
The winner, 21-year-old Makayla Chambers, captured attention with a unique costume featuring pigtails and a painted goatee. Although Drake didn’t attend the event, he made a surprise contribution by messaging Casuals Bakery on Instagram, adding $10,000 to the prize pool. The bakery was thrilled by the gesture, expressing their excitement and disbelief at the superstar’s involvement.
Participants in the contest strutted down a “catwalk” and answered questions in their best Drake impersonations. Lillianna Brown, founder of Casuals Bakery, emphasized the event’s spirit of community and celebration, describing it as a way for fans to honor the rapper, also known as “Champagne Papi” and “6 God.”
Initially, the prize package included a “Toronto Manz” bundle with cigars and Hennessy, but Drake’s contribution elevated the stakes, making it a memorable event for fans and participants alike.
