Dr. Dre Under Fire Over Instagram Post

Written by on March 26, 2019

Dr. Dre, aka Andre Young, is facing backlash over an Instagram post about his daughter, Truly Young.

After his daughter was accepted into the University of Southern California  (USC), Dr. Dre took to social media to do what most parents would do, tell the whole world how proud he was of her. The issue stems from what he actually captioned in the post:

“My daughter go accepted into USC all on her own. No jail time!!!”

This is obviously referring to the college admissions scandal involving A-listers, Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who used millions of dollars and bribery to get their children into USC.

Now this wouldn’t have been a huge deal if Dr. Dre hadn’t donated $70 million to the school back in 2013. He and Jimmy Iovine used the money to fund a new department, the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. They even have a building named after them on the campus!

Although this is not even remotely close to the lengths Loughlin and Huffman took to get their kids accepted into the school, but people are still NOT having it. Not to mention, Truly Young doesn’t even want to go there!

Some people are still on Dr. Dre’s side however. Comedian D.L. Hughley had this to say about the situation:
