Doja Cat’s ‘Paint the Town Red’ Becomes Her Second Hot 100 No 1

Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” reached No. 1 from No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in its fifth week. This is her second time topping the chart, following her 2020 hit “Say So” with Nicki Minaj. Notably, “Paint the Town Red” is the first rap song to achieve the No. 1 spot in over a year, marking the lengthiest gap for rap at the chart’s pinnacle since 2001.

Thanks to the track’s sample of Dionne Warwick’s iconic “Walk on By,” legendary songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David also make a return to the top for the first time since 2004.
