DKX Jam Squad Hits the 16th Annual Boys & Girls Club Community Health Fair

Rochester came out in full force on Saturday, August 15th, for the 16th Annual Community Health Fair, hosted at the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester on Genesee Street. The WDKX Jam Squad was on site keeping the energy high and broadcasting from a community event built around one simple idea: your health matters, and so does access to the resources that support it.

The health fair brought together a strong lineup of local partners, including Jordan Health, Aenon Baptist Church, RWJF, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester, all working to make health resources more visible and more accessible for community members. Attendees had the chance to stop by free health screening stations for blood pressure checks, vision and hearing screenings, dental screenings, and mental health support, giving families an easy, no-cost way to check in on their wellbeing.

This year’s fair also put a spotlight on health technology, with stations dedicated to telehealth demonstrations and patient portal setup, helping attendees learn how to connect with their doctors from home and manage their own medical records with confidence. A raffle for digital blood pressure cuffs and fitness trackers added an extra incentive for guests to explore the tech tables.

Beyond the health resources, the day had plenty going on to keep the whole family engaged. Lugia’s Ice Cream Truck kept things cool, Caribbean food vendors brought the flavor, and a backpack giveaway sent kids home ready for the upcoming school year, all while supplies lasted.
