Officials at Marvel Studios have confirmed that there will NOT be a digital double stand in to portray the late Chadwick Boseman’s character in the Black Panther sequel.
In a recent interview, Marvel Studios EVP of Production, Victoria Alonso said:
“There’s only one Chadwick and he’s not with us.”
Disney, who now owns Marvel, is at the root of the rumors. They have used digital doubles in movies like Rouge One, where the did it with the late Peter Crushing’s Moff Tarkin.
Alonso continued, saying:
“Our king, unfortunately, has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking a little time to see how we return to history and what we do to honor this chapter of what has happened to us that was so unexpected, so painful, so terrible, really.”
