Deputies search for driver in hit and run that killed 1-year-old in Yates County

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a one-year-old child in the Town of Benton, New York. The incident occurred Thursday evening on State Route 364 near the intersection of Carroll Road. Deputies report that the child was struck by a westbound black sport utility vehicle (SUV) with only the driver inside. The driver did not stop or call for assistance after the collision and continued driving.
