The tragic drowning of 3-year-old Trigg Kiser, son of TikTok influencers Emilie and Brady Kiser, has sparked an urgent conversation around pool safety. Trigg was found unresponsive in a backyard pool in Chandler, Arizona, and was later pronounced dead after nearly a week of hospitalization. The incident is under investigation. In the wake of this, safety experts are reminding families—especially those opening pools for summer—about best practices. In New York State, pools deeper than 24 inches require a four-foot-high barrier. Goldfish Swim School in Pittsford emphasized that drowning remains the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death in children aged 1–4. Their water safety tips include swapping floaties for U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejackets, enrolling in swim lessons from infancy, and designating adult “water watchers.”
