Deadly Tornados Rip Across Five Southern States In One Day

Yesterday, multiple tornados ripped across five southern states, resulting in the death of 5 people and heavy damage to homes and communities.
The 5 deaths were reported after one tornado touched down Thursday afternoon in Calhoun County, Alabama.
According to Fire Chief Michael Reid, around 60 homes saw significant damage in Pelham, Alabama. Pelham City Manager Gretchen DiFante gave a statement, saying:
“We’re also very grateful that of all the damage done, nobody was hurt. We’re very thankful for that this evening.”
By the end of the day on Thursday, there were 22 tornado reports across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi.
Over 10 million people were under tornado watches after 2 am ET.
