Recently in a podcast conversation with Naomi Campbell, Dave Chappelle explained how inspired he was by Stevie Wonder, who previously stated that he had plans to move to the African nation permanently.
Dave reflected on Wonder’s words, saying, “I am moving to Ghana so that I can be valued and respected more”, mentioning that was almost the exact phrase Stevie used.
Chappelle goes on to say, “You gotta think, as a Black American, who is more valued or respected than Stevie Wonder? And the idea that he would feel this way in this stage of his life and career… I think that Stevie is the soul of American culture. And if the soul leaves the body then, this thing is dead”.
Always powerful words spoken by Dave Chappelle on every occasion. He also talked about having a comedy club set up there… in Ghana.
