Danny Brown returns with video for “3 Tearz” featuring Run The Jewels

Danny Brown is making a welcome return to the hip-hop scene, after releasing a music video for his new track “3 Tearz”, a jam from his latest project ‘uknowhatimsayin’ – the record which recently marked Brown’s comeback after 2016’s ‘Atrocity Exhibition’.

While Brown’s latest album doesn’t feature many guest rappers, the latest release has verses from none other than Run The Jewels. The track sees all three rappers taking turns over a chaotic and sometimes lurching beat, which was produced by JPEGMAFIA.

Action in the video shows Danny, Killer Mike and El-P getting down in a Brooklyn warehouse, complete with one hundred camera-wielding bruisers and plenty of old-school film production techniques. The video was directed by Colin Read.

The clip follows visuals for other ‘unknowhatimsayin’ cuts, “Best Life” and “Dirty Laundry”, and has been kept commendably lo-fi by Read. All the footage has been collected by fans – some with VHS cameras, others with fisheye lenses.

It’s a high-energy video that sees Danny Brown jumping atop Killer Mike’s shoulders, as well as Killer Mike removing a ski mask before he starts rapping. Elsewhere, artists and fans share champagne bottles in what will surely go down as one of the most relatable hip-hop videos in modern years.
